MY ART SPACE
Myartspace enables students on group visits to collect physical objects from a cultural venue using a mobile phone, learn more about the objects that they collect, and then publish their own gallery online.
Educational consultancy role included advising on the selection of museums and galleries whose character would compliment the pilot phase of the project; creating education packs, lesson plans, assessment opportunities, national curriculum and QCA links; advising through evaluation phases; and working in consultation with practicing art, design and history teachers to make the service relevant and current; monitoring the take-up of the service by teachers and reporting on their feedback; and working on advocacy and dissemination of the project including sessions at Engage regional meetings, and at the annual Museums Association conference.
For more information about how myartspace works in difference contexts and has been used by the partner museums and galleries, download the Myartspace article, published in Heritage 365 magazine and in an edited version in GEM news. Following its pilot phase, the service will be made available to all interested museums, galleries, science centres and other types of cultural attractions for both group visits and individuals under its new name "OOKL: a new way of looking."
